Provider comparison guide

How to compare Support at Home providers

The right provider is more than a name on a list. Compare the actual services, published prices, capacity, communication and service agreement against the person’s approved support plan and family priorities.

The shortlisting checklist

Ask the same questions of every provider

It is easier to compare providers when the family records the answer to each question side by side.

Service match

Can they deliver the approved services?

Check the service types, days, times and whether the provider serves the person’s actual address—not only where an office is located.

Price and value

Compare like with like

Use published prices for the same service and time period. Ask what is included, how travel or cancellation is handled, and what the participant contribution could be.

Practical fit

Test communication and continuity

Ask about wait times, who coordinates care, how issues are escalated and whether regular workers can be maintained where possible.

Before agreement

Documents and decisions to bring together

Do not rush an agreement that you do not understand.

Why price comparison matters

Providers set their own prices, so My Aged Care recommends comparing providers and their prices for common services. A published rate is not a personal quote: confirm the service unit, inclusions, availability and the participant’s assessed contribution before choosing.

Later Life Advice is independent of providers. We do not sell leads or receive provider commissions.
